Kats Dance Academy is a registered Dance School in Heywood with the United Kingdom Alliance of Professional Teacher of Dancing and Kindred Arts (U.K.A) The U.K.A are corporate members of the British Dance Council and their Awarding body is validated by the Council for Dance.

We are a local Dance Academy in the Heywood area and we pride ourselves in playing our role in the

local community , with our own non profit fund raising committee who support the children in the

love of dance and support the local community.

We dance for all reasons , wellbeing , fun , fitness , show performance and some take it more seriously and take part in exams with UKA dance association with hopes of being involved in the professional dance industry themselves in the future with our very own sucessful teachers training programme

Kats Dance Academy opened its doors in Heywood on 3rd September 2011.

 

Prior to this both Kathryn and I had been teaching at my mums dance school so between us we have many years teaching and show work experience

​

We both have many years of experience teaching in Ballet Tap Freestyle Contemporary dance classes and also Adults Tap Classes 

 

Kats Dance Academy teaches a variety of classes including:

• Tap Classes 

• Ballet Classes 

• Contemporary Classes

• Freestyle Jazz / Rock & Roll /Cheer Classes 

• Contemporary Classes

• Theatre and Drama Clasess

All teachers are qualified and DBS checked and we have a fully qualified pediatric/ first aider on site at all times.

 

We are members of the UKA (United Kingdom Allian ce)

and are fully insured with the relevant music licences too.

 

Dance not only helps pupils physically but also improves self confidence and provides a way for them to express themselves in different ways.

 

We use a variety of resources to enhance pupils progressions whilst still keeping the younger classes as learning through fun and movement.
